Hi, I'm Holly!

I'm a graphic designer based in Northern Kentucky, working with businesses throughout the Cincinnati area and beyond. I help people turn ideas into thoughtful visual identities that feel human, practical, and a little bit joyful.

I started HWatkinsDesign as a place to combine my love of design with my love of making things. Most days you'll find me building brands, designing logos and identities, packaging, social media graphics, and print materials. The rest of the time I'm painting tiny ACEOs, dreaming up new adventures for Thimble, crocheting, or disappearing down another creative rabbit hole.

I earned my BFA in Visual Communications Design in 2021 and I’ve been finding new ways to apply those skills ever since.

What I Do

I work with small businesses, makers, and organizations on projects including:

  • Brand identity & logo design

  • Packaging & product design

  • Print & marketing materials

  • Merchandise & promotional graphics

  • Social media templates and supporting brand assets

Some clients come to me with a brand new idea, while others are looking to refresh what they already have. Either way, my goal is to create a cohesive visual identity that is recognizable and approachable.

My Process

Every project starts with a conversation.

I like understanding what you're building, who you're trying to reach, and what success looks like for your project. From there I'll sketch, explore ideas, refine concepts, and work with you through revisions until we land on something that feels right, not just something that looks good. The best design isn’t just beautiful, it helps people understand, connect, and remember.

One of my favorite parts of branding is seeing an idea grow into something people actually experience in the real world.

Beyond Design

When I'm not working with clients, you'll usually find me in my studio making something.

Sometimes that's a watercolor painting the size of a playing card. Sometimes it's crocheting a queen-size blanket, experimenting with stickers, photographing mushrooms on a walk, or adding another chapter to Thimble's little world.

Those projects teach me lessons I bring back into my design work—patience, problem solving, and paying closer attention to the details.
